President’s Message

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our members and our community for their support of our annual Yard Sale. The sale was very successful. The money raised will be used to provide for the Angel Tree at Christmas and Perky Travels Van that transports county residents for cancer treatment in Provo, Utah.
We continue to read and see news reports on the mortgage fallout across the country. Our credit union did not engage in the sub prime market and has not had any problems with foreclosures. Our loans were appropriately underwritten and we do not anticipate any major problems with loans we have made. Any members who are experiencing problems with your mortgage or have other financial issues causing you to go into default, please come in and let our experienced staff help you find a solution.
Our member service areas; Carbon, Emery, Grand, San Juan, and Duchesne Counties, continue to be stable economically as compared to other parts of the country. There are many unfilled jobs within these counties and this trend appears to continue into the future as oil, gas and mining activities continue to expand. The future looks very good for the mining, oil and gas industries with new projects planned for Carbon, Emery, Duchesne, and Grand Counties. In Carbon and Emery Counties, we are hopeful that the Lila Canyon Mine and the new mine in Scofield will be built and producing in the next twelve to eighteen months.
